We are opening our doors again at last! We feel we can safely start with an informal meeting, followed by a demonstration, and then a Hands On Session this month. There will be a few changes to our procedures – to help to keep everyone safe – but we think they won’t spoil the evening, and are the things that have become the new normal. Hopefully then we will be back to normal activities. See our calendar for more information.
Welcome to our website. We are a friendly club, meeting twice a month at the Wooldale Centre in Holmfirth. The second Thursday in each month features a professional demonstrator, and on the fourth Thursday we have a Hands On night, where our more experienced turners offer help and support to newer members.
Our membership ranges in age from 16 to 80, with a growing number of female members, and our meeting room has facilities for disabled access, so please come along and give us a try – first meeting is £5 for a visitor, with this discounted from your annual fee if you join us.
If you think you fancy having a go, but don’t know what to expect, why not come along and make your own pen? You can get a feel for the club, and take home something to be proud of – all for £15.
Last Thursday we had our first Hands On session since lockdown began. It was a successful with numerous members attending. The picture is of some of the Wig Stands made by members during lockdown for donation to the Hospice.
Next Thursday the 12th. August will be our first live demo since lockdown. Come along for an evening with Andy Routhwaite starting at 7pm.
