Great News!

We are open again as normal. Please use your discretion about using masks and keeping socially distant. Look here for our programme of events.

Welcome to our website. We are a friendly club, meeting twice a month at the Wooldale Centre in Holmfirth. The second Thursday in each month features a professional demonstrator, and on the fourth Thursday we have a Hands On night, where our more experienced turners offer help and support to newer members.

Our membership ranges in age from 16 to 80+, with  a growing number of female members, and our meeting room has facilities for disabled access, so please come along and give us a try – first meeting is £5 for a visitor, with this discounted from your annual fee if you join us.

If you think you fancy having a go, but don’t know what to expect, why not come along and make your own pen?  You can get a feel for the club, and take home something to be proud of – all for £15.

Wig Stands made in lockdown by members – to be delivered to the hospice.

It’s surprising to see just how much inventiveness was applied to our spinning top competition. The test was length of spin - but there could have been a prize for inventive design too! @ Wooldale. Community centre https://www.instagram.com/p/CXTE36IKhO7/?utm_medium=twitter

Our first demonstration for 18months or so! Andy Rounthwaite turned an elm pear and a rosy apple from paduak. It was lovely to begin to do normal things again. Andy had not demonstrated live for 2 years! https://www.instagram.com/p/CSgRCHKqaU_/?utm_medium=twitter
